It is my utmost honour to have the opportunity to serve my alma mater as principal. As magical as it is to rejoin QES with a new role, I believe it is a beautiful coincidence that I begin my term of service at a time when QES reaches this memorable milestone.
This year, upon celebrating the Platinum Jubilee of QES, we are more than proud to publish our third issue of “Tribute to Queen Elizabeth School”, which puts together commendations for QES from our alumni and commemorates the precious moments we have shared here in a place which we love.
The slogan of our anniversary celebration this year is “Timeless traditions, limitless futures”. I genuinely believe that it coheres with what students of QES, no matter current students or graduates, have been pursuing all this time. I take pride in how QES has nurtured generations of leaders who have continued to make significant contribution to society in various fields for several decades. With all the outstanding accomplishments all these years, we have somehow set the bar high for continued excellence and I am certainly confident that the doors are wide open to our juniors for limitless opportunities. My dear juniors, strive for the best in all that you pursue, so that you will bloom and grow to become future pillars of society. Continue to thrive with flying colours to pass on our legacy.
Special thanks to the unwavering support of countless alumni and their devotion to QES even after graduation. Even after you have graduated, as you proudly gain accolades in your future endeavours, I hope that you will remember where you came from and how you have blossomed into who you are today.
It is absolutely a blessing to me that issuing the Tribute has become a tradition to celebrate major QES anniversaries since the first issue was published in 2004 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of QES, and I believe that many more issues of the Tribute will be published in the many more years to come.
Here I would also like to express sincere gratitude to members of the QES70 Publication Sub-committee. Continuation of our publication of the Tribute would not have been possible without their dedication and efforts made to pass this treasure on.
Lastly, I hope you will enjoy reading this Tribute to look back on the beautiful collective memories you have created here in QES as much as you have enjoyed creating them in your years here.

Principal, Queen Elizabeth School
Twenty years ago, during the Golden Jubilee of our alma mater, I read "Tribute to QES" (Tribute) for the first time and learned from it that an excellent school was built and thrives among countless characters. I also saw numerous alumni bring back scenes from the past for us to relive. The memories brought by alumni not only redraw how to cope with academic studies, they also reflect how other qualities in life such as initiative and positivity were developed.
Time flies. The Diamond Jubilee of our alma mater was celebrated in 2014. The editors worked tirelessly and the 2014 edition of Tribute was born. It brought out more memories of our alma mater and also introduced alumni's performance in various aspects of society. A new section “Old Students with Outstanding Achievements for Science and Technology ” was compiled. The section introduced the remarkable accomplishments of 20 alumni. It vividly demonstrated how they fulfil the motto “Vos Parate Ut Serviatis (Prepare yourselves that you may serve)” and inspire readers to contribute to society.
2024 is the Platinum Jubilee of the school. The editors of Tribute have carried on with the tradition, and shouldered the task of publishing a new edition of Tribute, and in particular, expanded the section about old students with outstanding achievements to cover more fields. The 2024 Tribute, with growing size of alumni, shall bring a broader alumni experience and provide readers more memories and inspiration.
Since 2015, I have been honoured to serve as the chairman of the OSA. With the joint effort of all the Executive Committee Members, as well as the support of alumni, we diligently accomplished the objectives of the OSA, maintaining close bond among alumni, and providing necessary support to the development of the school for an all round education to our would-be alumni.

Our alma mater celebrates its Platinum Jubilee in the 2024-2025 school year. On behalf of QESOSA Education Promotion Organization (EPO), may I extend my warmest congratulations to Queen Elizabeth School (QES) on this milestone anniversary.
Since the founding of Queen Elizabeth School, it has been dedicated in providing all-round education to its students - to promote their moral, intellectual, physical and aesthetic development. As a result, our alma mater has nurtured generations of outstanding alumni making contributions in various sectors of society in the past 7 decades.
Alumni are grateful to the quality education and the colourful school life they experienced during their years in QES and they pay tribute to QES with their own ways. Some 30 years ago, a group of alumni believed that one way to serve is by providing quality education – echoing the school motto “Vos Parate Ut Serviatis” (修己善群). They believe that education can bring out the virtues of a person and prepare young people to serve. QESOSA Education Promotion Organization was then established in 1989 as a vehicle of QES Old Students’ Association to provide education services.
EPO is now the school sponsoring body of 2 primary schools and 2 secondary schools in Tin Shui Wai, with a total of around 3,000 students. The 4 schools share with QES the same school motto “Vos Parate Ut Serviatis” and the same music for their school songs. The 4 EPO schools have become schools that are sought after by parents. Through the 4 EPO schools, the value of QES has been rippling from Tin Shui Wai to other communities.
As a tribute to Queen Elizabeth School, EPO pledges to continue uphold the school motto to spread the light of QES to the community.
May Queen Elizabeth School have many more decades of success ahead!

We have great pleasure in producing this publication entitled “Tribute to Queen Elizabeth School 2024” for commemoration of the 70th Anniversary of our alma mater. The process of producing this special publication has been strenuous. We hope that readers will find the content precious.
“Tribute to QES 2024” provides a platform for old students to freely express their love and passion for QES, the principals, the teachers and their schoolmates as well as how they embrace the school motto “修己善群Vos Parate Ut Serviatis” after graduation from QES.
The QES60 Publication Sub-committee initiated a pilot project to compile a list of old students with outstanding achievements in Science and Technology. We continue with this meaningful task and extend the project to cover two more fields, viz., Education and Medicine. With the experience gained in these two exercises, we would also like to expand the project to cover as many fields as possible and systematically record in electronic form the remarkable accomplishments of all old students when the QES70 celebration activities are over. Moreover, the data bank will be continuously updated and the project will become an everlasting one. We are gratified to share with the QES family in this publication the outstanding achievements of over 50 old students which are conducive to the well-being of the community, the world and mankind. It is certainly a prestige to be a member of this shining family.
We have updated the history of QES and various useful information relating to QES, such as the lists of the Principals and the Chairpersons of the Old Students’ Association. The lists of the Chairpersons of the QESOSA EPO and the Presidents of the 4 OSA Overseas Chapters have been added to this publication. Regarding the scholarships, awards and grants of QES, you may note that the list has been continually extended as more and more individuals and groups of old students donated funds to set up new ones, mostly for commemoration of former teachers and classmates.
We are grateful to everyone who has contributed towards the production of this publication. Special thanks must go to Assistant Principal Mr CHOW Chun Yip for providing an article of the School Museum and his input in updating the lists of useful information relating to QES, as well as to TSE Siu Fong, Doris (69FA), President of QESAAUSA, for providing a comprehensive report of the development of the USA Chapter of QESOSA.
We sincerely seek your understanding in case there are any mistakes, omissions or imperfections in the publication. We have spare no effort in endeavouring to do our best.
Let us celebrate whole-heartedly the 70th anniversary of our mother school and look forward to her continuous advance and fame.
